Bf-109

The Bf-109 in the Android version of Strikers 1945 (until October 2020)

The Messerschmitt Bf-109 is a German aircraft that was first introduced, and appears only, in Strikers 1945.

Background[]

The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was the Luftwaffe's standard single-seat fighter of World War II, and it was able to outfight and outrun much of the opposition towards the start of the war. It was truly one of the most outstanding fighter airplanes of World War II, with its two 20 mm cannons and two 7.92 mm machine guns that packed more of a punch than other fighter aircraft at the war's start. More than 35,000 Bf-109s were built, beginning in 1935 and remaining in production until the end of the war, making it among the most numerous of any fighter aircraft built during World War II. Without question, it was the most famous of all Luftwaffe aircraft, being the mount of famous aces such as Erich Hartmann.
