Ground Battleship Doramascher

The Ground Battleship Doramascher as it appears in the stage transition screen

The Ground Battleship Doramascher is the Germany stage boss from Strikers 1945.

Appearance[]

Doramascher is a colossal panzer tank with many mechanical features. It has 4 large, armoured tank treads on each corner of the tank, each with a small turret mounted on top. The central part contains 2 cylindral objects (which later become part of the true form), each mounted with a 4-barrelled cannon, 2 smaller turrets next to the 4-barrelled cannons, a somewhat disproportional tank cannon, and missile launchers next to them. There is a small beetle-like "Head" on the front of the tank.

Doramascher's true form is a flying robot soldier. It has a breastplate-shaped chest with 2 small gun holes underneath it. There appears to be a small cyindral object under the gun holes, which has a tube extending into the robot on the left side, and another gun hole on the right side. There are large missile launchers on the sides of its torso (which are also visible in its first form), and smaller ones underneath the missile launchers. What appears to be a large cannon is mounted underneath the small cylindral object, although this is never used in battle. It has small, rounded feet, and there are large, arrow-like patterns on each of its "thighs". Judging by the robot's animations, It appears it has a rocket pack on its back. The large cylindral objects in its previous form, and the 4 barrelled guns, now become its arms (which is what it mainly attacks with). The most unique feature of the robot is the helmet that it "wears" on its head, and a red visor and a face resembling a gas mask.

Battle[]

1st phase[]

When the battle begins, Doramascher will enter the battlefield. In its tank form, it attacks by firing small bullets out of the small turrets, deploying mines from its sides (which will explode into bullets after a certain time), firing a big bullet from its central cannon, and occasionally raising up its "arms" to fire big bullets. Enemy fighter planes will occasionally fly onto screen to attack. In this form, the central cannon is its weak point, and destroying the tank treads will yield bonus points. It is interesting to note that in this form, it doesn't use the missile launchers to attack, despite them being clearly visible in this form.

2nd phase[]

Upon the destruction of the tank's central cannon, it will open up to reveal the flying robot soldier. The robot then turns on its jet engines, and soars into the air, beginning the second phase.

In this phase, Doramascher attacks by firing large bullets out of its arms, attacking with its missile launchers (which, quite hilariously, actually fire small bullets rather than missiles), and shooting more bullets from the small gun holes on its breastplate. In this form, attacking and destroying its arms will award points, and prevent the robot from firing large bullets. However, the torso of the robot is the weak point for this phase (which is very common for many bosses in the series). Once enough damage is dealt, Doramascher is defeated for good.

Trivia[]

  • Doramascher is the only one of the first four bosses from Strikers 1945 not to appear in any of the arcade attract movies. It is also the only one of the first four bosses not to reappear in Strikers 1945 II or Strikers 1945 plus (XFB-1 and Khabarovsk appear as sub-bosses in both games, and Kii replaces the Graf Zeppelin in Strikers 1945 Plus).
  • Doramascher is the only one of the first four bosses in Strikers 1945 whose true form actually bears a slight resemblance to the country that it appears in. The helmet that it "wears" on its head resembles the helmets worn by German soldiers in WWII.
  • It is interesting to note that in the stage transition screen, It is a dark green colour. However, its actual sprite is coloured a bluish-greenish colour.
